Origin of Shamba FC
Shamba FC was born from the camaraderie, memories, and resilience of the Kiira College Butiki class of 2014–2019. More than just a football team, Shamba FC represents the spirit of survival, brotherhood, and the enduring bond of old school ties.

The name “Shamba” is rooted in a vivid piece of our shared high school experience. During our days at KCB, Back then, there was a massive sugarcane plantation tucked away in a quarry near Aggrey House not part of the school grounds, but close enough to tempt hungry students. It became a legendary spot. Students from all houses, not just Aggrey, would make secret missions down to “the shamba” to feast on sugarcanes, especially when canteen snacks ran low or the pocket money was running on fumes.

It wasn’t exactly allowed and it definitely wasn’t ours. The owner constantly chased us off, but that only added to the thrill. It became a rite of passage, a shared tradition, and a symbol of survival, wit, and unity.
